If you hit cancel it won't use it, and you can repeat it for all your characters to re-create them on private servers or console later on. Oh and you can buy a character customization tool from the shop or auction house, activate it to find your characters sliders and take screen shots of them. I'll most likely be moving to a private server at some point, but I'm not doing so till the game shuts down. So in effect we are losing those memories. You can say you still have the memories, but the way our brains work is around triggers and the places we would wander around would trigger memories we would normally never even think about. Lastly, I'll lose all the memories of friends and experiences in the game. Even though they barely put any effort into updating it, it's sad to see GW2 lavished with attention and updates and Krafton drove this game into the dirt. The other thing is I'm losing a world I enjoyed wandering around in and playing in, I enjoyed the game still. I'm sad they are going to destroy my characters I spent so much time on and valued, it's almost like losing a beloved family pet or something at this point.
